ENGINEERING MODERN APPRENTICESHIPS – AUGUST 2025 INTAKE

We will be accepting applications for the August 2025 intake from January.

You complete our application form and submit this along with the other paperwork asked for therein (copy of your most recent qualifications and a short letter stating why you want a career in engineering) – see below for details on how to apply. Ensure the e-mail address you put in the application form is written clearly and is an e-mail address which is checked regularly as this is how we will contact you. Remember to check your spam/junk folders. All applications are acknowledged so if you don’t receive an e-mail from us it means we have not received your application.
You are invited to sit the Entrance Assessment Test. Your test results, application form and grades are looked at as a whole and if considered suitable, you are invited for an interview with us. There are samples of the type of questions asked in the test on our website www.atgltd.co.uk – under the Recruitment heading in Modern Apprenticeships. Work out the answers to the sample questions then check against the Solution to Test button under the Apprentice Application Form heading.

If successful at the ATG interview, your details are put with all the other successful applications and after our closing date for recruitment in April, companies who are looking to take on apprentices are invited to look through the successful applications. Employers then decide who they want to interview, setting up their own interviews and ultimately, employers decide who they want to offer an apprenticeship to.

If you are successful in securing an apprenticeship, you will start here with us on Monday 11 August for your first year off the job training, finishing in July the following year. You then go to work in your company and are monitored by our instructors on a quarterly basis, for the duration of your apprenticeship (appx. 3 years as MA is 4 years in total) until you achieve your Modern Apprenticeship.
