ABRASIVE WHEELS

We are currently taking bookings for the above course.

The 1/2 day course is to be held at our premises on Wednesday 17 October 2018 from 9:00 am—1:30 pm.

This training course offers operators of abrasive wheels from all types of industry the opportunity to be trained to the requirements of PROVISION & USE of WORK EQUIPMENT REGULATIONS (PUWER), including practical training.  Please bring PPE for the practical training.

Syllabus:

Introduction:   This training course offers operators of abrasive wheels from all types of industry the opportunity to be trained to the requirements of PUWER 98.

Objectives:      To provide knowledge on the safe use of Abrasive Wheels.  **TO INCLUDE PRACTICAL TRAINING** **PLEASE BRING PPE FOR PRACTICAL TRAINING**

Duration:         This is a ½ day course 9:00 am – 1:30 pm with 1/2 hour lunch break.

Syllabus:         Requirements of PUWER 98 in the context of abrasive wheels.

Hazards from the use of abrasive wheels.

Methods of marking abrasive wheels.

Methods of storing and handling abrasive wheels.

Methods of inspecting and testing abrasive wheels for damage.

The functions of all components used with abrasive wheels.

The proper method of dressing abrasive wheels.

The adjustment of the rest of an abrasive wheel.

Advisory literature associated with abrasive wheels.

The cost of the above course is £75 + VAT per person.

This is by way of an introduction to ATG new blog page it is intended that trainees at the centre and others will have an input into the material on this page we hope that trainees will participate by posting up information on some of the new skills that they have learnt and life generally from with in the workshop.  It is hoped that this will inspire others to take up the challenge and take up a rewarding career in Engineering.

We have member companies from various sectors of engineering looking to take on apprentices this year. You would attend ATG for the first year of your apprenticeship for off-the-job training, attending College one day per week to attain the relevant NC/HNC qualification. After which you go back to your employer and are monitored on a quarterly basis by our Instructors until completion of your Modern Apprenticeship.

This training course offers operators of abrasive wheels from all types of industry the opportunity to be trained to the requirements of PROVISION & USE of WORK EQUIPMENT REGULATIONS (PUWER), including practical training.  Please bring PPE for the practical training.

 

The cost of the above course is £75 + VAT per person. Discounts may apply for multiple bookings
